A cap needs an event definition
Ask whether a cap counts attempted, answered, qualified or billable calls. Record the reset timezone and whether a call in progress can cross the limit. Two dashboards can display the same number while enforcing different operational limits.
Concurrency is about simultaneous work
A daily cap does not limit how many calls ring at once. Ask how availability is checked, when capacity is reserved and when it is released. Test the case where two calls reach the final available destination at the same time. A vendor demonstration should show the records behind the decision.
Test time boundaries
Use a schedule that crosses midnight and confirm how the platform handles the selected timezone. Ask what happens at a daylight-saving transition. Check holidays and temporary closures separately from the ordinary weekly schedule.
Trace pause and overflow behavior
Identify when a pause takes effect, how it is acknowledged and what happens to calls already in flight. Confirm whether a fallback destination is permitted. A saved setting does not establish that every downstream route honored it.
Review the unavailable-buyer case
Ask the vendor to show a no-answer event, a busy destination and a buyer whose funding or eligibility changes. Record the event lineage and how the system avoids duplicate charges. Request a clear explanation of which parts are demonstrated and which remain proposed.
Use the result in a purchase decision
Add essential scenarios to the software RFP. Plan staffing with the capacity planner. This guide does not claim that RingFunnel’s developing software currently supports every scenario.
